Watch out for Jaden Smith’s Upcoming album, SYRE expected to be available on all service on November 17th. It’s beautiful to see how the 2 of them came to find a middle ground between Jaden Smith’s Rap and Dance background in comparison to Raury’s acoustic and R&B background and make something as creative and good like this. If you’re curious about Jaden I advise you get on his music soon! I can’t believe so many people have slept on Jaden for this long because he is raw talent and he is doing everything right so far leading up to the release of this album. He aims to radically change the soundscape of music, all the while bringing. He cites Phil Collins, Kid Cudi, Bon Iver, Andre 3000 and Coldplay as some of his musical influences. I even got a sense of Drake’s singing/rapping when the bridge comes in. Raurys music embodies innovation and experimentation with new heights and sounds, unlike anything currently on the airwaves. He was spitting rhymes left and right all over this track.
He is not foreign to rap he actually had really good verses in his past songs like Devil Whisper and he even did some spoken word on Love is not a four letter word. However there is a certain level of tenacity in Raury’s verse in this song it is something I would never expect from Raury but I am so happy that he is actually spitting on a track with an aggressive rap flow, attacking the beat.īut let us not forget about Jaden, He absolutely killed this track too. It actually serves as a balance that will be present throughout the album. Revolution picks up the pace and intensity quickly, but does not negate the message of the first song. He is known for his albums Indigo Child and All We Need. He is known to normally remain calm in his tracks but with Falcon, a fast-paced song with beat switches, and bridges he is rapping and singing effortlessly throughout this entire track. We get the singing side of Raury first in his folk-influenced manner but don’t stress hip-hop heads, there’s something for you too. If you don’t know about Raury, he is a Stone Mountain Hip-hop and R&B Native. Jaden Smith, the son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, released a song titled Falcon featuring Raury. Jaden Smith Speaking about how this collaboration came to be I feel like one time, we just linked and really connected. He said “…I feel like we’ve always just known about each other and we’ve always just been so appreciative of the work that each other does. This song was premiered on Beats1 Radio where Jaden also spoke about how this collaboration came to be. Ultimately, this is a smooth track to roll up, lay out, and zone out to.JADEN SMITH AND RAURY REALLY HAPPENED! They are the collab track that we never knew we needed.įalcon is the latest single from Jaden’s upcoming album SYRE. This song should give us a good idea where he is going sonically with this album. He’s able to switch cadences a few times without the transitions feeling forced, and the emphasis of him rapping adds to the song rather than distracting. It’s a short-lived but worthy attempt at rapping and, although I’m biased towards his talents as a singer, you have to commemorate his efforts to grow. The second half of the song scales back the production as Raury switches into rap mode.
Meanwhile, Raury does what Raury does best by working in his style of layered and introspective lyricism. During the latter parts of the song, producer and trumpeter Donnie Trumpet channels his inner Miles Davis with the mellow tone of his cornet horn, adding a cosmic vibe reminiscent of something you’d hear from an SZA track. The beginning of the track is a soothing mix of sparse piano chord hits and a subtle mix of whimsical melodies dancing in the background. Raury’s latest single, “Like a Star,” is solid example of the artist smoothing out the bumps in his lyrical woodwork. Since the record, however, he’s been lying low while releasing a number of singles and features that suggest he’s honing in on his talents. The singer, songwriter, and rapper had something of an identity crisis throughout the album in some cases on single tracks. Unfortunately, Raury’s first studio release, All We Need, was a disjointed attempted at combining too many genres. It was a short yet impressive list of accomplishments for a teenager who was barely signed into a record deal. After releasing his 2014 debut, Indigo Child, the wunderkind kept his momentum steady with features on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay and FIFA 16 soundtracks, along with recognition from outlets as varied as XXL Magazine and the BBC.
It wasn’t long ago that Raury exploded onto the national scene with his eclectic blend of soul, hip-hop, and folk music.
